Our minds and bodies are strongly connected and taking care of (or not taking care of) one affects the other. We can’t always just “snap ourselves out of it” but as we nurture and relax in a physical way this can then impact our mood and thoughts.
Mindfulness and relaxation techniques can:

- progressive muscle relaxation

Set to soothing music, watch the videos or close your eyes and follow along with the audio. Each of these techniques will help train your brain to find rest and stillness. I fell in love with these techniques while becoming certified in EMDR. Instead of dealing with our struggles in our typical, sometimes unproductive ways, mindfulness helps us go toward our pain and learn from it.
