Hi, I’m Elaine Mains, licensed Marriage and Family Therapist.

I have a compassionate, authentic, and down-to-earth approach to therapy. I see therapy as the process of removing the weeds and rocks from the soil of your life. As we build a therapy relationship together, I want to be authentic in this process with you, since I’m asking you to do the same. Although we discuss some harder topics, I hope that you will also experience safety, normalcy, and a few laughs.

In 2001, I graduated with my bachelors in science degree in Psychology from the University of California, San Diego. I received my MA in Marriage & Family Therapy from the University of San Diego in 2005. Some of my years of experience includes working at Rady Children’s hospital and spending years living and working overseas. Especially because of my time overseas, I have a heart for and seek to understand cultural issues.

I have been married to my husband since 2012 and we have 3 amazing young children. The techniques I use in my couples, individual, family and child work are dear to my heart because I have seen them transform myself and my own relationships.
